Danilo Rodriguez-Marcucci has more than 10 years experience in Diplomacy, Governance and International Relations. Until recently he was the Minister Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission at the Guatemalan Embassy in the United Kingdom where he was responsible for monitoring, analysis and assessment of the political situation, as well as advising the Head of Mission in pursuing political guidelines from the Ministry. He was involved in planning and coordinating of policy/strategy and designed projects, negotiating timelines and budgets. He facilitated the increase of assistance to Guatemala in poverty reduction, capacity building, crime and policing matters, and procured technical cooperation from International Organizations.

As First Secretary and Consul he was also responsible for the promotion of commerce and investment through participation, promotion and organization of related events and exchange and facilitation of relevant information, alongside administrative responsibilities.

Previously he held a position in Germany, where he was in charge of the Tourism Section of the General Consulate and in Japan where he simultaneously contributed to the promotion of his country while learning the language and Japanese culture.

Mr Rodriguez-Marcucci also worked at the Central American Institute for Political Studies where he contributed to organize seminars and conferences related to the integration process of Central America contained in the Esquipulas Accords and the democratic processes in the region.

These experiences give Mr Rodriguez-Marcucci extensive hands-on and theoretical experience of the political, economical and social context of regions such as Central America and of the European Union.

Mr Rodriguez-Marcucci has experience of dealing with high-level politicians and officials and is able to produce concise written documents. He holds two Masters degrees, MA in Diplomatic Studies and MA in Political Science, Technical and Economical Cooperation and Economic Geography.
